Frequently asked questions.
How long does it take for carpets to dry after cleaning?
The drying time can vary depending on factors such as humidity, carpet thickness, and ventilation. Generally, carpets can take anywhere from 4 to 12 hours to dry completely. We use high-powered equipment and techniques to expedite the drying process as much as possible. We also can offer equipment rentals to speed up the dry time! Please mention this when booking your appointment.
Do I need to move furniture before the cleaning appointment?
We prefer that furniture is moved out of the areas to be cleaned to ensure thorough cleaning if more than traffic area cleaning is required. However, we are equipped to move standard sized 3 or 2 seater couches, recliners, and end tables without items on them for an additional cost. For heavier items like sectionals and beds, we recommend moving them beforehand to ensure the most efficient cleaning process, however it is also perfectly fine to leave this furniture and have us clean the traffic areas if furniture isn’t moved often. Then when you are ready to do the entire room and have the furniture out give us a call to get the entire room cleaned!
Should I vacuum before the carpet cleaning service?
Vacuuming before our service can help remove surface dirt and debris, allowing our cleaning solutions to penetrate deeper into the carpet fibers. We also vacuum on arrival with our Carpet and Rug institute certified vacuum to remove as much dry soil as possible! Vacuuming is the most important step to achieving an outstanding result, so the more the merrier! If you're unable to vacuum beforehand, don't worry—we'll still provide a thorough cleaning.
Are the cleaning products you use safe for pets and children?
Although we offer no guarantee our products are 100% free from any reaction with your children and pets since skin and medical conditions are very complex and broad for each individual, we do use safe non-toxic products in our cleaning process. Our process ensures your carpets are left fully rinsed of products and left to dry with a balanced pH. We have our Safety Data Sheets on board and available upon request to learn more about the products we use.
Can I walk on the carpets immediately after cleaning?
While we recommend minimizing foot traffic on freshly cleaned carpets to allow them to dry completely, you can walk on them with clean shoes or bare feet. We provide protective shoe covers after each job to help maintain the cleanliness of your carpets during the drying process.
How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?
The frequency of professional carpet cleaning depends on factors such as foot traffic, pets, and indoor air quality. As a general guideline, we recommend scheduling professional cleaning at least once every 6 to 12 months to maintain the cleanliness and longevity of your carpets. Many carpet manufactures require professional hot water extraction cleaning at least every 18 months during the warranty period. Check specifically with your flooring salesman for requirements. We are certified to ensure our process does not impact your carpets warranty.
What methods of carpet cleaning do you offer?
We primarily use Hot Water Extraction Cleaning (HWE) or also called Steam Cleaning. We have a high powered truck mount machines in our vans that generate the required pressure, temperature, and suction power to ensure the best results possible. This method of cleaning is the undisputed champ when it comes to the deepest and most thorough cleaning, which is why it is the only method the major carpet manufacturers recommend for regular cleanings.
Most other methods out there are more tailored to specific needs, i.e, dry compound cleaning uses no water, and is a process where saw-dust like product is worked into the carpet fibers and vacuumed when dry. While this method is great for a super-fast dry time and also good for monthly or quarterly maintenance cleanings, it doesn’t not compare to the 98%+ soil removal our HWE process achieves.
Will carpet cleaning remove all stains and odors?
While our cleaning process is highly effective at removing most stains and odors, the success of stain and odor removal depends on various factors such as the type of stain, its age, and the carpet material. We use advanced techniques and specialized products to achieve the best possible results. We will leave you well informed on any conditions that exist that might not meet your desired outcome, and arm you with information on what can be done beyond cleaning to correct!
Do you offer any guarantees or warranties on your services?
Yes, we stand behind the quality of our work. We offer a satisfaction guarantee, and if you're not completely satisfied with the results, we'll re-clean the affected areas at no additional cost. This does not include certain stains such as pet spots where the animal has had several accidents in the same spots over time. Those are beyond normal carpet cleaning and fall into restoration. Likely to remedy, your carpet will need to be pulled up and subfloor treated, padding replaced, and carpet thoroughly cleaned. We do not offer this service, but do have folks we can recommend!
Our most common callback is older deep saturation stains from the carpet padding or sub floor that come back up as the carpet is drying (this phenomenon is called Wicking). We do not need to reuse our machine to address this and it is a very common result of a deep cleaning, especially if not regularly maintained. We revisit and address this free of charge, in a reasonable amount of time.
How long does a typical carpet cleaning appointment take?
The duration of a carpet cleaning appointment can vary depending on factors such as the size of the area to be cleaned, the level of soiling, and the chosen cleaning method. On average, a standard residential carpet cleaning appointment typically takes between 1 to 3 hours.
Can I schedule carpet cleaning for a specific time/date?
Absolutely! We strive to accommodate your schedule as much as possible. You can easily schedule your carpet cleaning appointment for a specific time and date that works best for you. Simply contact our team at (320) 235-6642, and we'll find a convenient time slot for your cleaning service.
Do you provide quotes over the phone, or do you need to inspect the carpets first?
To provide you with the most accurate quote, we prefer to inspect the carpets first. This allows us to assess the condition of the carpets, identify any specific cleaning needs or challenges, and provide a customized quote tailored to your requirements. However, we can provide estimates over the phone based on the information you provide.
Is professional carpet cleaning worth the cost compared to rental machines?
While rental machines can be a temporary solution, they often lack the power and effectiveness of professional-grade equipment. Not to mention they leave product residue in your carpet fibers which is very likely to resoil faster than rinsed carpet (think if you didn’t rinse off after taking a shower, yuk!!!) Professional carpet cleaning not only removes deep-seated dirt and stains more effectively but also helps prolong the life of your carpets and maintain a healthier indoor environment. It's an investment in the longevity and cleanliness of your carpets that can save you time and money in the long run.
What should I do if I have heavily soiled or high-traffic areas?
Heavy soil and high-traffic areas require special attention to ensure thorough cleaning. Our experienced technicians are trained to assess and address these areas using advanced cleaning techniques and targeted treatments. We may recommend additional pre-treatments or deep cleaning methods to effectively remove stubborn dirt and restore the appearance of your carpets. Many traffic area visible patterns are actually wear and damage, and not spots or stains. Our Technicians are trained to spot these and help explain what we predict the result will be after cleaning!!! Hint…. Your carpets will be clean, but wear patters such as damaged fibers, untwisted yards, etc.. will not be reversable.
How do you handle tough stains like wine, pet accidents, or grease?
We have extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of tough stains, including wine, pet accidents, grease, and more. Our technicians are equipped with specialized stain removal products and techniques to tackle even the toughest stains effectively. We'll assess the type of stain and apply the appropriate treatment to ensure optimal results without damaging your carpets.
